Valona wooden Angels
Valona’s wooden angels are sustainably made from high quality Finnish birch plywood. These unique designs were awarded Best New Product 2024 at the Suomen kädentaidot, the largest crafts fair in Finland and Europe. Wooden angels are perfect as Christmas decorations, but also make thoughtful gifts for many occasions. They can be hung on a Christmas tree or placed on a table or shelf to create a cozy atmosphere. Our selection includes angels in various sizes, and some models come in postcard packaging, making them easy to send as gifts.

Finnish design
At Valona, we make feather-light wooden jewellery, birch Himmeli mobiles and seasonal decorations such as Christmas tree toppers. In addition to aesthetics, we value ecology. Birch, therefore, is the right choice of material for us. Valona was founded in 2006 by its designer Elina Mäntylä.
We have been a limited liability company since 2018 when Markus Vihottula joined the company and turned from a mentor to an owner. Our office is located in Marjaniemi, Helsinki, but the design work travels with us in the archipelagos and the mountains of Lapland. We employ 2-5 employees, depending on the season, directly or through subcontractors across Finland.
Our products are available in approximately 50 design and gift shops around the world. We strive for international growth because we believe in our products and want the ideology of ecological and responsible design to be accessible to anyone interested in Nordic design.

Handmade in Finland
Valona’s jewellery and interior design products are all carefully handmade in Finland, all from cutting the wood to dyeing and assembling the product – every step of the way is done by a special person for Valona.
Ecological and ethical
For us at Valona, sustainable values are at the heart of our design and operations. Most products are designed based on the principles of zero waste, thus minimising waste material. Only sustainably produced and certified Finnish birch wood is used as the main material for production.
